Time gets away from me

WOW! It is now December and my last post was September?!?! What have we been up to?
A lot has happened, the kids are in school, AJ has started Tae Kwon Do, The Holidays are creeping up really fast, Baseball is now over till the spring.
The kids are staying busy, AJ plays ball and does martial arts now days. He is loving every bit of them both. Annabel is yet to be in anything, we are waiting till she turns 4, like we did with AJ. But she is more then happy to cheer for her brother in all his activities!
We are settling into our house, as we have decided to stay here for the time being. So I am wanting to make loads of changes and make this place "HOME" Bring on the work!!
Ricky has also turned the BIG 30 in the last month, we had a nice party at the Toyota center for him in a suite for the Guns N Roses concert. Nice 8-'s theme, we had a good time.
Other then keeping up with the kids, Ricky and I are well. Staying busy with work also is a full time activity. We are just trying to get cozy in this winter weather we are having and enjoy our family time during the Christmas Holiday!!

Long Lost Blogging....

Well I seam to have wondered away from blogging for the past month and 1/2. I have been very busy this summer, with working, handling kids, keeping the house clean. It's been fun, hectic, overwhelming, tiring, I could go on. But I wouldn't trade any of it! A mother's work is never done!
Summer is coming to a close. The kids start school Monday the 22nd, AJ in kindergarten and Annabel back to Montessori school. They are both very excited, on the outside mommy is excited too. But deep down I'm sad I wont have my sidekicks with me driving me bonkers.
A few things have happened in the last few month/weeks, I had my 30th birthday in New Orleans, a group of my friends went down and we enjoyed a nice weekend! I am officially 30, whatever that means! UGH! We took the kids to Florida again this summer, just like last summer. I believe we are going to make this an annual family vacation spot for our little family. The kids love going to Florida and playing in the ocean, finding shells, splashing in the "big" pool, spending time with us and their grandparent's.
AJ is signed up for baseball for the fall, I can't wait to watch our little slugger in action again. As for Annabel we are waiting till she turns 4 to put her in anything. Just like we did AJ. But boy is she ready to be involved!
As for that goes our summer has been pretty relaxing, a lot of swimming, hanging out with friends, and family, movie nights, ice cream nights. It's been enjoyable to say the least!!

Time Flies

WOW, where has the time gone?
It's already June 1st, summer time, hurricane season, hot days ahead, screaming kids!
We had AJ's 5th birthday in May, he had an Army theme this year. He is his daddy's mini me, he plays call of duty, so he's all about soldiers.
Baseball season has come to an end for now, and soccer is soon to begin. Annabel will be starting dance soon as well. I have started helping out here at the office, so I am a working mama now! The kids last day of school was yesterday, Annabel has two more years left at Montessori School and AJ is now moving on to Kindergarten!!! So so sad! Summer has officially began....

AJ is playing baseball this spring with ORWALL...He is a KC Royal! I have some family ties to the Royals so it was pretty neat to see AJ was playing on this team. He is loving every minute of playing America's Sport! He is actually really good when he pays attention. Just like his daddy very active in all sports.

We went to the Ranch like we do every year, the kids had an egg hunt. We enjoyed family time. The weather was beautiful! We did all the traditional Easter goodies. Dyed eggs, hunted eggs, received Easter baskets. Prayed the loving word and what Easter is all about!

No more terrible 2's!!!!!!
Well I say that and Annabel is the most sassy girl I have met! Sweet girl turned 3 this month...
She is a very sweet, loving, adorable, sassy, bratty, sensitive, energetic, hyper, caring, talkative, little girl ever!
She is doing great in school, she knows her colors, ABC's,and shapes very well. We are still in the process of potty training her, it has been a struggle. But I believe she is finally catching on....thank god!
We shall see what this year brings us with her learning and growing up so fast. Can't wait to see what god has in store for us!

Well a lot has been going on around here. We have officially started baseball!! AJ is doing really well with it and he's loving being on a team. Ricky is assistant coach and I am Team Mom, we are enjoying it!
Go Texan Day was Friday at school, the kids dressed up! I am taking AJ to the rodeo in a few weeks, he is so excited! Other then that we have been laying low and just doing family things here at the house.

Well not much going on in The Villarreal household lately. Just keeping up with the kids and house work. Most know our house is on the market, it's very tiring to say the least. We have had alot of activity (exciting)! Lets just pray it sells soon.

We have got AJ all ready for T-ball, starting next week. We are teaching him to catch with his glove. He has the hitting and throwing down to a T...Forget T-ball he's ready to play with the big kids! He is very excited and wants to be on the Good Team! He keeps saying he wants to play second base, A Ok with me, now can he be #7 too or is that to much to ask? Then with that combination maybe the Big Leagues don't look so far away!! (Biggio was my all time Fav. Astro)
He is doing well in school, this is his last year at his Montessori school, he is in Pre-K there. He has his days where he wants nothing to do with school and other days he asks for more and more work. He is Mr. popular at school, can get him in trouble sometimes. I guess we have our hands full in the up coming yrs!
He is getting better at writing his name, doing good with his letters and numbers. The things he says sometimes are funny....

He told my mom this weekend he needed to talk to her about getting tattoos from the store.
AJ: Ni why did you get me tattoos? My mom says we can't have them.
Ni: Honey I didn't know tattoos came with your monster truck.
AJ: Well we need to talk about this!
Ni: (holing back a laugh) Ok well lets talk!

He is getting so big so fast, He will be 5 in May! We have a Kindergartner! AM I really getting old?

As for Annabel goes, well she is a hoot! She will be 3 in March and she thinks she is a princess. She is all about dress up, and playing with her babies. She isn't big on sports right now. I try to get her to play soccer with me and AJ and she just rather watch. She wants to be in dance, but I keep telling her that she has to be out of diapers. Well she tells me she's just not ready!
That is one set back with her, I can't get her potty trained. It's making me crazy! AJ was easy.

Annabel is a sassy thing, she is a 25lb ball of fire! She picks fights with her brother on a daily basis, she points her finger at me and daddy when we tell her to do something. But she is a sweet little thing too. Very lovey and a tender heart.

Ricky and I have been blessed with two great kids! Yes parenting is challenging on a daily basis but all in all I love it! I think they are understanding that we are the boss and what we say goes. AJ has gotten his xbox taken away lots of times and Annabel knows what all four of her bedroom walls look like!

I hope everyone had a Great Christmas and brought in the New Year with a bang! I love the holidays but I am so glad they are over. I am pretty much back to normal over here. All decorations taken down and ready to tackle 2011! Ready to see whats in store for us this year. Alot happening in the next few months, both kids Birthdays,our 6yr Anniversary. Alot to be thankful for that's for sure!

We had a pretty low key New Years, just like every year. Our Christmas was great, spent it with the families. The kids of course had a blast opening their gifts.

We loaded up everyone and headed to College Station Wednesday before Thanksgiving for some family fun! My brother was in town for Thanksgiving, and we started 2 yrs ago with the kids to go out to this wonderful little Christmas village per say! We missed out last year we were all so busy leading up to Christmas. But we plan to keep this going for the kiddos, they love going. Watching their little faces light up when they see Santa, the lights, the snow, just everything is so much fun!

I hope everyone had a very Thankful Thanksgiving this year!
As we enter the Holidays, I am very thankful for my loving family and friends, my husband and our 2 beautiful babies! We have been very blessed and I thank God everyday for a wonderful life he has given us!

Disney on Ice

Ok I am 29 and this was my first Disney on Ice experience...my mom's too! So I purchased some really great tickets, so Annabel could actually see the event and what was going on. It was all about Disney Princesses so AJ stayed back and played with a good friend of his. Annabel had a blast, can we say SPOILED!!! she wanted everything, from food, to toys, to even dance and skate with the performers. She was so upset she couldn't dance with Mickey and Tinkerbell. The look on her face was priceless. She had a blast and mom and I felt like a kids again too!!

2010 Travels

Well I can honestly say Ricky and I have been world travelers this year!
But as much fun as we have had, I think we are finished for now with the travels. We have had a great time traveling around to many different places and seeing some new things. Took the kids to Florida this summer, and we took many trips to the Valley to visit Ricky's family, we had a good time. Ricky and I went to Europe in September and had a blast. (Germany, Paris, Belgium,& Amsterdam) And last but not least New York, and we just returned!
We went to New York for a wedding, Ricky was a groomsman. Our dear friend's Janet and BT got married. Everything was beautiful, don't know if you have been up north for the Fall Foliage but it's beautiful! We don't have that here, just goes from Green to brown...ugh! Nice cold weather in Upstate NY, with very nice company!
Now just wrapping up 2010 and getting ready for the Holidays around here. Crazy,fun,cold time of year!

Well Ricky and I have been planning a two week trip to Europe.
If finally arrived and now we are home. Time flies when you're having fun right?!
We had a blast, we went to Germany first and had a great time at the 200th yr Oktoberfest! We will be going back! Then we stopped in Paris for a few days, not my favorite place to be. Just wasn't our cup of tea per say. After Paris we stopped in Belgium, we loved it there. Waffles, chocolates, and beer! Need I say more? After that our last stop was Amsterdam, it was fun there too! Very different and crazy experience. In a nut shell that was our trip...the pictures can tell the story, otherwise I could be on here for hrs typing!! Enjoy....

Back to School!

Well it's been 2 full weeks now and the kids have been back in school! AJ is in Pre-K at his Montessori School he has been going to for the last 2 years. Annabel is also going there now, this is her first year and she has AJ's old Teacher. She's not crazy about me leaving her, she cries but calms down after I leave. AJ well he's used to it and just says bye mom!

They are getting so big so fast, I can't believe AJ will be in Kindergarten next year, I'm so not ready!
He's learning to write his name, knows all the continents, knows most if not all his shapes, colors, numbers, etc.
AJ is his daddy's mini me, he loves playing video games and loves sports. Dr said if he continues on the path he is now for growing, he will be about 6ft!!

Annabel well she is a sassy thing! She is doing well, she can count to 5, knows some shapes, all colors, Talking like she is 5! She is also tall for her age Dr said she can easily be 5'8! Hello way taller then mommy!
She thinks she's a princess but loves to get dirty, explain that one?!

All in all we are doing very well, I get lots of me time in the mornings while kids are at school! I stay pretty busy though, these people in my house keep it pretty cluttered with clothes, and toys all over!
Family life gotta love it!!

Florida 2010

Well my little family decided to take a quick and I mean quick trip to Florida this past weekend. Ricky heard something on the radio about a Pirate Festival down at Panama City Beach Florida over the weekend. So we said what the hey, why not right?! So we loaded up the kids and pawpaw and Ni and we headed East on I-10. Well the car ride was good no problems really, 10 hrs later we rolled into Panama City Beach, after getting up at 2am to leave Houston. Very nice and NO OIL!!!! We played in the pool and on the beach all of Friday. Saturday was the Pirate Festival in town. We were there all day, from noon to 4pm. Kids were exhausted, they got tons of beads from the parade, played games, rode a train, played in a mirror maze. Then after leaving there they still wanted to go to the beach and swim. We took them back and finished the day at the beach and the pool. Needless to say the trip was short but very eventful to say the least!! Woke up Sunday morning at 4am and headed home!

Fun in The Sun

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Fourth!
Monday we loaded up the kids and we went to the beach for some fun in the sun! They had so much fun, we wanted to get out there before all the oil decided to show up on the Texas Coast. Well so we thought.....
The kids had fun playing with their sand toys, collecting shells with mommy and going way out in the water with daddy. We made sandwiches and just hung out for a few hrs. Zoey also went and she seamed to have fun, not really knowing where she was or what to do. Well Annabel and I were sitting in the water waiting for daddy and AJ to come back so she could go out with daddy. Well she was trying to get some "dirt" off her arm and couldn't so she showed me and I couldn't get it off, well I looked closer and yup it was OIL! I left it on because I didn't think Ricky would believe me since where we were there was no signs of oil anywhere. He looked and sure enough it's what it was. No clue how she got it, maybe from some seaweed. But we got it off and after that we loaded up the kiddos and headed home!

Soccer 2010

Well AJ has started Soccer!! He loves it and is really good at it!
Ricky and I went through all kinds of leagues to put him in. Some start at 5 others just not what we were looking for. I came across Rush! They are a great organization that has professionals teaching kids how to play soccer. AJ is liking his soccer camp he is in, they are teaching him the basics. He's 4 so not much going on at that age but to learn how the game is played. If he continues to want to play then Rush Soccer is where we will stay!!

Well I hope everyone had a great Father's Day! I have some great men in my life and a great husband! We just hung around the house and BBQed and went swimming with the kids. Very relaxing day!

Unfortunately we had a death in the family Friday, Ricky's grandfather passed. He was a great guy, in the years I was able to be with him he was always caring, and funny. Always talked to me if I understood him or not!! He will be missed!

The kids finished up swim lessons last week. They did very well, AJ has gotten swimming down pretty good now. Annabel is still shaky but loves the water. I think we have been in the water all weekend.

One last thing, AJ starts soccer this wednesday and he's excited! He wont watch the World Cup very much but insists on being a goalie! I will post pictures for everything soon. I just had some free time to type a small update, on our little lives!

Where did April go....?

Ok well April flew by and now May is ending and I have yet to post anything new. I'm getting bad about updating this thing.
Alot as happened in the last few weeks, well April was a blur really. May we had AJ's 4th birthday, we took two trips to the Valley, Sea World, Ricky broke his ankle, the zoo, children's museum, I think that's all.

AJ wanted a Monster Truck birthday party this year. So He sent me on a wild goose hunt all around Houston looking for Monster Truck items for his birthday. I finally found them at Arne's! Houston's party superstore!! He had a good time at his party and we even found a monster truck moonwalk!

We went down to the Valley for a week at the end of April to visit Ricky's grandfather, he wasn't doing well at the time. Well he pulled through and we got back this past Sunday after having a requested Fiesta per his grandfather's request! He had a good time, with family!

Annabel turns 2!

Well Annabel is officially 2! Seams like she has been 2 for a few months now, with those terrible 2's! She turned 2 the 28th of this month and we had a small family get together here at the park in the neighborhood. The weather was so so nice out! She had a blast! She was pooped and out along with AJ as soon as they hit the couch! She got lots of clothes, I think she is set for the summer now! And she got a red mustang! She better not ask mommy and daddy for a mustang when she turns 16 cause she already got it!

5 year Anniversary

Well Ricky and I celebrated our 5 yr anniversary Friday March 12th! Nothing fancy, just dinner and many margaritas, with 2 great friends! I love my husband to death, he is a great guy and a wonderful father to our 2 beautiful children! Ricky and I have known one another since the 3rd grade back in our Meyer days! It's weird something like a fairy tail. I have been told to make a movie or write a book about our relationship...lol! We have been together 10 years now! Wow if you think about it thats a long time, a decade now! Yeah I will keep him around for more!

Stitches

Well we have gotten our first set of stitches here in the Villarreal Household. We were at a birthday party a week ago, all was going well. We were about to leave when AJ comes crying to me that he fell and hurt himself. I didn't think anything of it, there was no blood I could see....
Until he looked up and showed me his chin. There was a nice clean gash and tons of blood by then. So I loaded him up, left Annabel with my sister-in-law and we headed to the ER. Mind you I am all alone because Ricky was out of town. Seams to be me always with the kids in the ER when he is away. He did well, he had to get 3 stitches. We rolled him up like a burrito so he wouldn't slap the Dr. PawPaw had his feet and a big nurse dude had his head and mommy was standing next to her baby!! He was a trooper, the nurse was calming him down. AJ listened to him very well. Next thing we know AJ is snoring!! Yes I said snoring, little guy got so relaxed he fell asleep while the Dr. was putting his stitches in. He never knew we left till we got to the car.
He was showing everyone for the next week his cool stitches he got.
Now they are out, we got them out yesterday and he did great! He is such a big boy I can't stand it!

Christmas 2009

Well I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas!
We had a busy Christmas as always, with all the families! It was a very nice one though. The kids had a blast and got way more toys then they needed.
We started off at my grandmother's house the Sunday before Christmas, that was a nice Sunday with my dad's side. We don't see them often enough these days. There the kids saw Santa aka: Uncle Raymond! Neither one of the kids are afraid now! We have always had Santa come since I was a little one when we had Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa Veit's!

Moving onto Monday, my dad and Janice came by to do Christmas with the kids since they were going out of town. The kids had a blast opening their gifts as any kid would right?!

Now comes Christmas Eve and we had lunch at my mom's. Tammy and the gang were there, not the whole family this year! Good times just hanging out and catching up, stuffing our faces! Opening gifts! After everyone left we did Christmas with my parent's and brother. The kids had a blast of course....

Every year my parent's add a little something to the tree, either it be money, a golf club, a ring, etc. (yes those things have been in the tree) And make us look for them. I know they do this just to get a good laugh at us looking for something in the Christmas tree. Mind you everything blends in so it is not easy! Well I got a head start this year and I cheated....Well I found my money ahead of time this year, but didn't say anything because I knew mom would hide it all over again! So I kept my mouth shut...hehe! I am always the last person to find my mystery gift so I looked a few days before! Hey it worked, I found mine first this year Ha! They have been doing this since my brother and I were kids, I tend to pass it along!

Ok later that afternoon we loaded everything thing and everyone up and headed to Willis to Ricky's parents ranch. There we had homemade tamales and goodies. Every year there we stay up till 12 midnight and open gifts! Something they have done for years as well. This year the kiddos were getting restless, they don't understand why they have to stay up so late. But we made it and midnight came around and it was Christmas 2009!! Again the kids were showered with many gifts...

Christmas day we have breakfast at the ranch then we head home to see what Santa has left for the kids. The kids were excited, AJ got his blue race car he asked for and Annabel got things she didn't ask for...haha!

I know this is late but, I find myself having a hard time keeping up with our blog these last few months. Is it that we are busy, I 'm just lazy. I don't know all of the above. We actually took the kids around the neighborhood this year. Ricky drove the truck and the kids and I rode in the back. It was a little chilly, but we didn't stay out long. Really do the kids need all that candy?

San Francisco Marathon

Well most of you know I have been raising money for the Leukemia Foundation. My cousin lost his wife in March of 09 to Leukemia. So I signed up with TNT (Team in Training) to help me with my journey. Along with 20,000 other people we raised over 14 million funds that go toward research and funding for families battling this disease. I raised money to not only go towards finding a cure but to get me to San Francisco to run in the Nike Woman's Marathon benefiting the TNT and The Leukemia and Lymphoma Charity. Well I am blessed to say I did the half Marathon 13.1 miles through beautiful San Francisco. It was tough in some areas but I made it. Nothing as bad as what families have to go through with fighting blood cancers. It was very worth it and I hope in my life time we can find a cure and I will be proud to say I helped in that process!!

End of Summer Happenings

Well summer is coming to an end, so we have been getting some last minute play time in. A few weeks ago we went to Kemah with Danny and Bianka. AJ had the most fun, Baby G and Annabel just came along for the ride. It was very hot but we had a good time!

I also took Anthony to Incredible Pizza one night with mom. We had never been there so I wanted to check it out. I was tired of Chucky Cheese, needed some new scenery!!
AJ liked it, we rode the go karts, he played some games, went bowling...

Anthony is in his second year of Montessori School, and he is loving every minute of being there. He likes his new teacher and he loves all his friends. Luckily they all came back!! He is growing so fast and learning so much, it's hard to believe he's only 3! He had his first homework assignment over the weekend. Ricky and I sat down with him Sunday and working on it. He had to count from 1-9 with no mistakes and he had to identify the numbers as well. He is getting there, he counts.....1234789!! It's cute!

Well I guess it's time for an update!!
Where do I start?....
Well AJ has been in school for a year now!! He has come so far and he loves every minute. He has learned so much and his is always happy to share his accomplishments!! He is now in the 3-4yr Old class and he is learning to write now!! The things he says amazes us everyday. The new words and sentences he puts together is just darn funny at times! He is now officially potty trained and yes that was a trying time in the Villarreal house. But he did well with it! He and Annabel have that brother sister rivalry going on already. Lets just say it drives me nuts. Jealous are they both of each other. I'm only Anthony's mommy not Annabel's. I hear that all the time. Mommy she's hitting, yup I hear that too! Whatever AJ does Annabel has to do the same always! Lets just say it's a very loud and entertaining house hold these days!! But you gotta love'em!!
Annabel is well she is still not talking much. She says all the bad things that AJ has taught her, like No, Mine, screaming. You know the fun things! She says water, juice, nuggets, Zoey, mommy, daddy, pawpaw. I thinks that's it for now. We were so used to AJ talking at her age it's weird for her to not be talking as much. She is getting so big so fast, well they both are.
We have had a fun filled summer, many trips to the lake, the zoo, Cozumel, parks. Playing with cousin's. Almost another year past!

We spent it with family at my brother-in-law's house. Everyone went swimming and we had BBQ. Just spending time with family is relaxing and lots of fun. The kids had a blast and were exhausted. Ricky and I took the kids to watch fireworks once it got dark. They loved watching them.

Cozumel Trip-part 2

Well sorry it has taken me so long to finish this post from our Mini Vacation to Cozumel!
I covered the Pirate Ship and the Submarine trip. And swimming all day the first day there. Well Sunday was Father's Day so we decided to go into town and shop and have lunch. So we did, it was a great day to spend with daddy and lunch was wonderful. Hey in Mexico you get great Mexican food, it all works out!! Unless your our son and you get nuggets!
Then once we got back to the resort guess what we did??! We went swimming, but it was fun. Then dinner was at night, it was a steak dinner. Very good!
At the resort on Sunday's they put on a big show of different movies. They dance and wear cool costumes, and get everyone involved. AJ loved it because Spiderman was there and so were the animals from Madagascar. It was fun, then AJ and daddy danced after. AJ made daddy proud getting on stage and dancing with the other kids!!
But that was our last night there, we were sad to be leaving. But it was a very nice trip and we all had tons of fun! Next time Annabel will get to go with!

Cozumel 2009 - part 1

First and foremost I hope all the daddies had a great father's day!!

We just got back from a little family vacation minus Annabel =(. She is still to small to take on long flights. We took AJ to Cozumel for the first time and he had a blast. We arrived Friday morning the 19th, so we had all day to spend there.The resort we stayed at was very nice and we will defiantly go back. There were iguanas everywhere, flamingos, crabs, and hermit crabs. AJ had a blast finding them all!! So we got settled in and we spent most of Friday at the pool! Mommy and Daddy took advantage of the all inclusive!!! AJ also enjoyed ordering his sprites from the bar as well! He liked the fact he could swim to the bar and sit! It's the small things right..lol?! Well after swimming we had dinner reservations at the Mexican restaurant on the resort. Very good food I may add! At 8:30 every night there is an activity for the kids, so Friday they had a pinata, well AJ was shy but he did hit it.
That was the first day.

The second day was very very busy!!! We took AJ on a submarine tour. The Atlantis goes 100ft under water, AJ loved looking for all the fish, he saw 2 sting rays but he was looking for sharks. No sharks this time around!! It was fun. Then we went back and he wanted to go swimming again, so we were off to the pool again. After attempting to build a sand castle with daddy. Saturday night was a blast. Aj had a good little nap after the pool so he was ready to go. He loves pirates so we took him on a pirate dinner tour/show. It is really for adults but hey he is 3 and had no clue. He was just happy to be on a Pirate boat with crazy Pirates. The show was so much fun!! The dinner was great. If you are ever in Cozumel check it out! AJ danced, mommy and daddy danced and played games, and drank!! After that AJ was out as soon as we got in the Taxi to head back to the Resort. It was a long night!

Memorial Weekend 2009

We had a great holiday weekend. Anthony and my parent's went up to the lake house Saturday. Sunday morning Ricky and I packed up and headed up there, along with Ricky's parents, Ed,Phillip,and Juliana, Cousin's Sarah and German and a good friend of ours Marco. It was a very nice and relaxing trip, just to get away with the family is always nice. The weather was great! We had tons of food, sat by the fire, the kids went swimming, jumped on the water trampoline, had water balloon fights, laid in the hammocks, went water skiing, knee boarding, jet skiing, you name it we probably did it! The lake is so much fun now that the kids can enjoy it. We all loaded up Monday night and headed home. My parent's and AJ stayed till Tuesday, AJ didn't want to leave. We will be making lots of trips to the lake this year, so anyone want to join us just speak up!!!

Potty Trained!!!

Well it is official, Anthony is potty trained!!
Wow I never thought this day would come, I started pretty early with him. I introduced AJ to the potty at 18 months. He would go here and there, he knew the concept just telling us was the trick. Once he started school at 2 yrs and 2 months he was familiar with the potty and when I would take him he would go. Well at school they were helping me and he was doing great!!! At one point he was trained at school from 8:30 to 2:30. The trick was getting him to go for us here at the house. Not so easy anymore. Now Annabel was here and you know how that goes, so he went back to diapers for a few months. I wasn't going to push it anymore because he just got mad. Mad toddlers are not fun! So even at school they laid off for a bit. Well something clicked in our little 3 yr olds head. He had been going potty at school again for about a month now, and about 2 weeks ago we started encouraging him to use big boy undies because he is 3 now and he is a big boy. Well a few accidents here and there, bound to happen right? Well one accident I don't know what went through his head but from then on he will not wear a diaper and he tells us when he needs to go (for the most part) he has been sleeping with big boy undies on, with no accidents during the night!!! I am a proud mommy and very happy that AJ is now potty trained! Now if I can just get little miss potty trained then that will cut costs on diapers all together!! Ok I know she is only 14 months old, am I asking to much!!!?

I had a great Mother's Day! We went to church with Ricky's family and it was very nice, The kids gave us mom's a flower. After church we went to Kara and Hector's house (Ricky's brother) We had a good lunch and the kids all played and went swimming with the daddies!! I got to visit with my mom for a few hours and it was nice. It was a relaxing day! I got 3 very nice cards from my babies and my husband. AJ made me a gift at school with his feet and hand prints, I love it! I am very blessed to have a close and loving family, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well our boy is growing up so fast! AJ turned 3 on the 9th! We just had a small get together here at the house with his close friend's and cousins. It was very very hot outside, so next year we will find a better alternative...haha! He loves the movie Cars so we decided to go with that this year, and he loved it! He is doing very well in school, learning so much. He also had a party at school. He took cupcakes and took pictures with all his friends. We are working on the potty training thing, but he still wont do it here at home. At school he is doing great with the potty. He amazes us everyday with new things he learns, so lets see what this next year has in store for us! We love you AJ!

Ricky and I pulled AJ from school for a bit. His school is fine, just worried about the you know swine flu that seams to be going around like it's the new spring thing to have. We have had an adventure this past 2 weeks. One with all the rain, my parent's house flooded. (everything is fine) They are getting things taken care of and the house will be like new in a few days!!
Ricky, Me, and Edward traveled to Dallas to ride in the Dallas MS150. I must brag on myself for doing it alone. Thanks boys for leaving me behind after the first hill! I did great, just talked to the voices in my head and sung to myself you know the norm. Then it started to rain. But it was fun and I had a blast!
AJ will be going back to school tomorrow, let me just say I can't wait!! But I will miss him here with Annabel and I to keep us busy. No I love having him home with me but school is important. Here are a few little videos of our time home!

MS150 2009

Well I wanted to wait till I had more pictures, but I guess I can always add more later. Most of you know Ricky has an MS150 team. Last year was his first year to ride. I got to join the team and ride this year!! I was so excited and nervous and overwhelmed. I didn't know what to do with myself. Well Josh prayed for Hurricane like weather and God seamed to fit that into the schedule. The fist day was canceled, no part of the ride has ever been canceled in the last 25 years. Let it be know the first time I ride this happens! Well deep down I was bummed but at the same time I was screaming for joy!! But we did manage to get 20 miles in on Saturday, so that was good! We stayed in La Grange over night and rode out Sunday at 8am and headed to Austin. It was a long and fun ride I must say. Half the team finished way before the other half did. Me along with 3 others all finished at 5! Ricky waited for us and crossed the finish with us, and I thought that was great, having our team Capitan and my husband there for us!! So 74 miles and 9 hrs later we crossed the Finish with all smiles and a sunburn! It was fun and I will do it again anytime...with more practice that it! I need to get faster, 9 hrs on a bike is just crazy! Ricky, me, and Edward are doing the Dallas MS150 May 2nd and 3rd....Wish us Luck!!

We have a new addition to the family....
AJ has been wanting a dog. We have no clue where he has gotten this idea from. But for a month now you ask him what he wants for his Birthday and he says, "A dog." So Ricky and I have been doing some research lately to find the perfect dog for our family. We have had two dogs in the past. Not wanting to get rid of either one but under some different circumstances we had to. Dazz our little Italian Greyhound was way to hyper to put around a new born baby (Anthony) So when we moved before AJ was born we gave him to a friend of ours. Donzi our adopted Greyhound we had him for 4 years, we had to get rid of him because he bit AJ on the face. Very sad day here at the Villarreal home. But we know he was adopted into a nice home!!! Then we had Samus our very sweet cat, she found us one stormy night. So we took her in, well come to find out after Annabel was born we was allergic to Samus and Ricky had an allergic reaction to her as well. So we had to put her in a better home, so she is now at my dad's house and him and Janice love her as much as we did. Well this brings us to Zoey, Ricky has been reading up on Golden Retrievers and has fallen in love with them. A friend of his had one and says they are the best family dogs. So we did more research and now we have one! She is 6 weeks old and the kids love her. Zoey and AJ chase each other around Annabel likes to pat her back. She really is what we were looking for in a dog, and the kids will be able to grow with her.

I hope everyone had a Great Easter!!
We had a good day yesterday, hanging with the family. The kids had a blast hunting for eggs, they also played a game. They raced with hard boiled eggs on a spoon. Interesting to watch the two little ones do it!!! The kids had candy, played in the pool, jumped in the bouncer. They were all exhausted by the days end. And they even had Easter Sundaes!!! hahaha =) We all did, the kid in all of us came out! AJ got me with a confetti egg, he loved doing that. We went to Church Friday since we were all pretty busy Saturday and Sunday. Church was amazing!

2009 Montgemory Cook-Off

We took the kids to the cook-off a few weeks ago. (I know I need to update this thing more often!) My cousin has a cook-off team and we go pretty much every year, and enjoy some good Bar-B-q. This was Annabel's first year going and AJ's 2nd. AJ is tall enough to ride a few rides and enjoy a lot more now. PawPaw, Ni, and Uncle Richard took the kids to see all the animals and they loved it. Later that night we took the kids and walked around the carnival for a few. Ricky and some of his friends rode a carnival ride. (Crazy!) Daddy took AJ to see some weird animals out of a freak show or something. But I don't think he knew it was not normal. He saw a two headed turtle and a two nosed cow. Weird! That was a daddy and son thing. Then I took him on his first roller coaster. He Loved it!! He had a blast. Both kids were out before we reached the Hwy.

My parent's and I took the kids to see and play in the bluebonnets. My mother has a co-worker who has some land in Plantersville. The land is covered with blue and it was so beautiful. AJ was a little grumpy but he had a good time. Annabel chased butterflies and AJ and pawpaw caught one. He was so excited!! After we left there AJ asked," What's next mommy?" I said, "I don't know, where do you want to go?" He said. "The Lake!" So we went to Lake Conroe and had an ice cream and fed the ducks. We had a great day!!!

March Madness

Well it has been awhile since I have updated the good ol blog. So I am catching up and I am calling it March Madness....!!

We had our 4 yr. anniversary a few weeks ago! That was a great night out!
Anthony and Phillip (his cousin) are now best buds. I think they have missed seeing one another 3 times out of the last 14 days. These boys are funny to watch. So glad they are getting along. They are only 11 days apart and they used to fight like no ones business. Now that they are older it seams they have to play everyday. So they played here last week, and I let them play in the water!!!
They had a blast.

Annabel had her first Birthday March 28th!!!! We just had a small get together here at the house. She had a blast along with the other kiddos. Her and AJ were exhausted and slept till 10am the next morning!!! They jumped all day in the moonwalk and played in the playhouse.

My dear cousin has lost his wife Melissa. We found out Last July Melissa was diagnosed with Leukemia. At the time Casey was stationed in Japan.(Casey is in the Marines) They moved to California so she could continue her treatment somewhat closer to the family here in the states. We have prayed and prayed but it seams God needed her more then we did. Melissa went home to be with God March 26th. She leaves behind husband Casey and their 18 month old Hannah. Melissa was 23 and would be 24 in April.

Yesterday March 12th was mine and Ricky's 4 year Anniversary!!! Time flies, it doesn't seam like 4 years of marriage has gone by. We have been together 9 years now. WOW, feels like 30...haha j/k!
We are going strong with 4 years under our belt and 2 beautiful children! I couldn't ask for anything more, I have been blessed with a great husband and a great Family!
Last night my parent's watched the kiddos and Ricky took me to Capital Grille on Westheimer. It was very nice and the food was great!!! So sweet they had our table set up with roses and a card from the restaurant, everyone had signed it and it said Happy Anniversary! It was very nice!

So we have been going to Church on Saturdays. I am loving it! We have missed the past 2 Saturdays because we were out of town and AJ was sick. This past Saturday was Face Up, Jesus on Forgiveness......

Everyday we get mad and bitter is some way. I have learned to let things go. Not all but most. After hearing this it just made me think of a lot. Pick your battles but the most part let things go and move on. Especially in your relationship, marriage, with your children. It is easier said then done but work on it and I think you will be much happier!!

Rodeo 2009

I had a girl's night with mom and one of my bff's (inside joke) Bianka! We went to the Rodeo this past Thursday and saw Mr. Handsome himself Clay Walker. I think I have missed 4 shows in the past years that he has come to Houston. I am usually always there!!! We had a blast, it was nice to get out for a bit. We shopped around and stuffed our faces and had margaritas. I talked Bianka into taking a funny picture!! Hehehe....
Also Bianka had this crazy idea to buy a sugar glider!! Now I really want one. I have always liked them. But never did the research on them. They actually would make a really nice family pet. So that is our next mission, to talk our very nice and sweet husband's into letting us get one!! I will keep you posted!

So today is Valentine's Day! What a great day we had. Ricky and I have always had faith in God and grew up that way. We don't go to church every Sunday like most, but we want to. We alway say how we need to go to church today, but never go. Well we went tonight the Fellowship of The Woodlands. We have gone there before and every time we leave there we always have something negative to say about it. Well I think we are going to give it a chance. Something clicked today and I don't know if it was the message Pastor Kerry had or what it was. But we loved it. Here is what it was all about:

Love: Giving someone what they need not what they deserve.

Todays series was part 1 of ~Series Relationship Principles of Jesus~

Pastor Kerry explained how a relationship works out. Either it be, husband, wife, son, daughter, mother, father, etc. There are many different relationships. Are you at the same table as the other person?
He gave 7 different tables from what people may want out of a relationship. And you have to be at the same table to have them understand how much you care for and love them.
For example:
I myself love spending time with Ricky and I like the practical things. So for him to realize that I need to speak up and make him realize that I want him to make time with me or I want him to wash clothes, do the dishes with out me asking, and that shows me that he loves me. But If I never say to him those things make me feel loved then he may think I like to get gifts, or I like to hear him say I love you. When that isn't the case at all.
here are the different tables:

Touch Table
Gift Table
Practical Table
Opportunity Table
Provider Table

He used a ping pong table to show the different ways how this works. you can be serving and there may not be anyone on the receiving end. You can be at the Time table and waiting for them to make time for you when they are at the gift table waiting to give you a gift. When you need to meet and come together as a team and make it work.

Ricky on the other hand likes to be touched (hugged, kissed, back rub) also the practical table. Now that we know what each other wants and likes this this will make thing alot smoother in how we do things.

Take these things and work them into your relationships and see how they affect your life and the ones around you:

Take Notice
Ask and don't assume
Break the cycle
Learn and adjust
Experience Christ's Love

You may have a father and son, The father will say he loves his son very much. But you ask the son and he says what can I do to make my father love me? That's because they aren't at the same tables. Dad thinks all his son needs is an I love you every now and again to make him realize hey dad loves me. But not the case. Son needs Time, or Touch to feel loved. So all dad would need to do was give son a hug or spend some time with him. Take a look around and see what the other person needs to make you realize hey they love me!!

To my hubby,
Let's just say I am proud of Ricky. Even in these hard times right now, he is doing very well and keeping things strong. Running a business isn't easy, especially when you feel like you're all alone at times with no help. We have had some hard times in the past but you move on and look for the positive in our relationship. God tests you in many ways either it be good or bad. But if you are strong and believe in one another then you can get past it. I love my husband so much it's hard for me to express it at times. I'm not good at that. I get busy at times and loose focus, but I'm only human. I would do anything for him. He has done so much for us I forget to thank him alot of the time. He has provided for us in so many ways, and I am so thankful and greatful for that. I am blessed to have a husband that cares so much for his family. He may not show it all the time but I know he does deep down. Ricky if you are reading this....
Babe I love you so much and Thank you for everything you have given me and our children. I can never thank you enough. You are a great Husband and father. I can't wait to see what the up coming years have in store for us. You are my everything!

Well nothing new or exciting has happened over here lately. Annabel has been sick, Anthony being the goofball that he is there is never a dull moment. Ricky is working, working, working. And I have been hanging around here keeping the house in tip top shape and house work drives me nuts! I am in need of a vacation, one on the beach sounds really nice!

Things in the past week

Well, let me just start by saying our lives are full of smiles, laughs, sadness, surprises, etc. This past week, our computer decided to take the plunge. So glad my Mac is still alive and kickin! AJ is coming home from school saying new things and sentences that take us by surprise everyday. He told me the other day, "Mommy be careful, watch out for the cars we don't want to crash." Ok so I am driving and hear this from my 2 yr old and I think, I have a backseat driver and he's only 2! But it was cute. He wanted to go to pawpaw's house this morning before school, but didn't want to hear that he was at work. So I drove by to show him pawpaw wasn't at home. Well he proceeded to say," mommy I will wait for pawpaw to get home." Mind you it is 7:45 in the morning. No concept of time at all. But again it's so surprising to hear our 2yr old talking so well for his age. A lot of the time we forget AJ is only 2 because of the way he caries himself. We are amazed everyday and so proud of him!!!

Ricky has been working, working, working. With the way our economy has been going we are just thankful he is staying busy. I am making things happen here at home. Keeping things tidy around here. Keeping everyone happy!! Ricky and I are training for the MS150 in April. Ricky is so much better then I am at this bike riding thing. But he also has been riding for yrs now. I need to catch up!! We had a ride this past Sunday and it was my first official ride. I did 17 miles and I am so proud of myself!! Ricky did 45 miles...show off! He did great also! So many more to come!!

Now Annabel on the other hand is all over the place just like her brother! She is walking now, and still into everything. She climbs out of her walker, she climbers our foot board at the end of our bed, she climbs the stairs and goes to their playroom and plays, she climbs out of her high chair. This little girl is so fearless. When we put he down to play she goes. Well we turn our back and she is not there. Well she is known to climb up stairs and go to the playroom. She is a piggy and eat everything. She has 2 teeth now. She wrestles with daddy and AJ alot and tries to pull the blanket over her head by herself,she waves bye bye. She is fun to watch and is all smiles.

Annabel Ryann

Well our baby girl is growing so fast. We never thought we would have a girl, we wanted boys. But god blessed us with Annabel and we wouldn't have it any other way. We are blessed to have Anthony and Annabel, one of each!!!
She is not a baby anymore, she is taking steps now and her personality is so cute! She is very cuddly, very playful, rough and tough, crabby, all smiles, and she is all girl! She get sit from mommy...haha!
She is on the move and she is fast. I don't think she is going to walk very long, she may just start running, trying to keep up with big brother! We have a very active little girl. I guess he has to be to keep up with AJ. He is a very active 2 yr old.
SHe climbs the stairs every chance she gets, everything goes in her mouth, she doesn't like to be alone, and she likes to be held. She is cranky when she is tired and when she doesn't get her way. But you tickle her and she wont stop laughing, it's contagious.
She is a piggy and loves to eat! Don't think you can sneak food around here, nope she will see it and be next to you in a min. Annabel is a fun and playful little girl and we love every min of it. Both AJ and Annabel have been great and we are so proud to be called mommy and daddy!

We made it home with all limbs attached!!!
We decided to take a family vacation this year, my mom made it part of our Christmas. So we all went to Park City, Utah for a few days to play in the snow. This was Anthony's second time there and Annabel's first time. It was Ricky and I and the kids, my parent's, my brother, my cousin Tammy and Aunt Virginia that went. We had so much fun. We went to dinner, we snowmobiled, Ricky skied and snowboarded, Richard snowboarded and so did I, We went tubing, did breakfast, sight seeing, played in the snow, shopped, had snowball fights, tried making frosty, we did a lot on this trip. Snowboarding again kicked my butt, but I like doing it. I suck but it's fun! Ricky tried it out this time and he also got beat up. He went back to skiing. Richard laughed at us, he is pretty good!!! AJ loved playing in the snow with PawPaw and having snowball fights. It was cold for Annabel but when she was out she like it. The girls went snowmobiling....haha we got stuck in the rent a car!!! not once but twice! It was fun!
All in all it was a great trip with the family and I would love to do it again anytime!!!

Fist off I hope everyone had a Great Christmas!!!
For some reason I could not get into the Christmas spirit this year. I didn't want to decorate, and when I did decorate I wouldn't finish. I wanted the kids to have a good Christmas. This year Anthony was actually excited and knew what was going on. He found a few gifts that I had wrapped and he decided to go ahead and open them. He is sneaky! I need better hiding places for next year! This was Annabel's first Christmas and I think she enjoyed it. She had no clue what was going on but she went with it. We had a few houses to visit like every year, so that keeps us pretty busy. We had a death in the family Christmas Eve. My step-mom Janice, her mother passed away. She is in a better place and will be greatly missed!
Christmas Eve we go to my mother's for lunch with her side of the family. Then we do our Christmas after everyone leaves.

Growing up my parent's would hide gifts in the Christmas tree for us...so that is what Ricky and my brother are looking for...I found mine first!!

Then that night we go to Ricky's parent's house at the ranch and stay the night there and we eat, eat, eat and do Christmas at midnight.

Needless to say I am exhausted and we have way to many toys in this house now. I can't say our kids are spoiled, but I can say they are spoiled rotten! =)
I am glad it's over, now I am working on cleaning this house and getting everything back in order. Ricky got me a new Plasma for the bedroom and I am loving it!! Movies and wine after the kids are in bed is wonderful!
All in all we had a Great Christmas and everyone was in good spirits. The kids had a blast and thats what matters.

Santa's Wonderland

For those of you who don't know about Santa's Wonderland near College Station, You need to check it out if you have kiddos!!!! I took the kids out there today and AJ loved it! This year he is enjoying all the fun things Christmas has to offer. He loves looking at the lights most of all. So I thought about this place. I have been once before long ago. It was nothing like it is today. There is so much to do. From snow, seeing Santa, live music, camp fire, petting zoo, pony rides, food, food, food, and a hayride to see all the great lights!!! I think we are going to make this an every year thing to do right before Christmas!!! I taped the hayride for a bit on my camera for you to see a sneak peak of what it's all about. Well as everyone knows times are tough these days. Some more then others, but we all would like to find something to do on the side to make some extra money right?! Well whatever it is good luck! I have found a hidden talent that I have always knew I had but didn't really know where to start. I am very crafty and I love to make and decorate things. Well my new adventure for 2009 is, I am going to start making hair bows for babies, toddlers, and big girls!!! So wish me luck!! So if anyone needs bows and you like what I am making let me know!!!

Snow!!!

Well we got snow this year for Christmas!!! This ia AJ's 3rd Christmas and second time to see snow but the first time here at home!! This is Annabel's 1st Christmas and her first time to see snow. She was looking confused as she watched the snow fall. AJ said it was to cold outside. But he did throw snowballs!!
It was so nice seeing everything so white out here in Conroe! I love the winter weather and I wish we got snow more often but oh well! I guess the joy's of living in South Texas we get pretty much all types of weather!!!

Annabel and I went to play group on the 4th. It was the kids Christmas gift exchange. This was our 2nd time going and I have a good time, I enjoy all the ladies and the kids seam to get along very well. So sad AJ has to miss out but he has school! So John Michael had Annabel's name and he got her her first doll. Annabel had Adam's name and she got him a race car. It was good times...

Well it's that time of year again....
Time to get fat and enjoy every minute of it!! Then off to the gym on Monday....(Those are my plans anyway!!)

Update on Anthony's school days......
As you know AJ has been going to Montessori School. He absolutely loves it. He has gotten used to the morning routine. He talks about school all the time and all of his friend's. Well he has been in school now for almost 3 months and he has learned so much in such a short time. He can count to 10 in English and Spanish, you ask him and he gets a little shy. But you can get it out of him when he is in a good mood =) He knows his ABC's and comes home singing them all the time. He has yet to be able to pronounce every letter but he manages to try and it is so cute! He wants to do his ABC's all the time. So bath time is when we do it the most. I will keep you updated on his schooling and how he progresses.

Rennaissance Festival

This past weekend we went to the Ren. Fest. I have always gone since I was a little girl with my parent's. Ricky and I love going, walking around and seeing all the fun things,and eating and drinking beer, turkey legs, apple dumplings, lots to do there. All the games for adults and the kids, makes it an outing worth while! This was AJ's 2nd time going. He had some fun considering Jordan Marie was with us. Chris and Tanya had never been to the one here and they enjoyed it. Chris, Tanya, and Jordan Marie are our neighbors and dear friend's to us, for those who don't know them. The kids rode the horses, they managed to get me on some man made ride...haha it was fun, Chris rode the carousal. AJ got a sword and Jordan got some fairy wings. Annabel didn't get anything this year she is still to small. Tanya and I shopped around a little, I love all the clothes and the music. I could listen to it for hours. For those who have yet to go I suggest it!!

Annabel and I went to her first playgroup last Thursday. My friend Patti invited us to a Halloween themed playgroup with some of her lady friend's and their kiddos. Annabel was the only girl out of 7 kids!! (Come on Patti I'm praying you have a girl!!!!!) We had a good time. The boy's all dressed up, Anthony was at school so he couldn't make it. I loved getting out of the house and meeting new faces, it was good times!!

We hope everyone had a fun Halloween!
We just hung out here at the house and passed out candy. Our neighborhood has hayrides that go around with tons of kids. We live in the "sticks" so hayrides are so much easier, considering there are no street lights and everyone's driveways are long. Our parent's came over and we cooked on the grill, sat out by the road and passed out candy to the kiddos. AJ was a pirate and Annabel was a ladybug. She will be a green M&M tonight at a party we are going to. We have to dress up and I am a pirate and Ricky is a Captain of a pirate ship. Sticking with the theme...haha!
All in all it was a fun night.
Annabel is sick she has croup (I think I spelled it right?!) Just a bad cough really and an ear infection, Big brother passed it her way. But she is doing better today. She is still a little horse and cranky.

Dewberry Farms

Today I loaded up the kids and grabbed the grandparent's and headed towards Austin. We went to Dewberry Farms in Waller, TX. We thought it was a great idea! We got there and it was packed, Hot, AJ wanted to go home. I think he gets anxiety when there is a large crowd. It's like he's afraid something is going to happen. So he hung on to me and pawpaw all day. He rode in his wagon, we did the corn maze, he feed the goats, we mined for arrowheads, he rode the train. For the most part I think he had a good time. Plus the little guy is getting sick again. So he wasn't feeling very well. But he did good! Annabel rode in her stroller and went along with the flow!

Well I have made it a tradition to take the kids to the pumpkin patch every year. So we can carve them once we get home. I know I know AJ is only 2 and Annabel 7 months. But Hey you have to start somewhere right?! This is AJ's second year to go and he loves it. He loves to run and pick out a pumpkin. Yet again I didn't have my camera at the pumpkin patch itself. So I have a lot to blog about. I am behind lots of days and I would like to catch everyone up. Well Ricky and I have game days once a week. Either we have friends over or it be just him and I and sometimes AJ! But we love it and we have a blast. This last one we had Brandon and Josh were over. Well Ricky decided to buy Rock Band. It had been burning a hole in his pocket just to get it since it came out. Well we have it! Let me just say it's a blast and it is that much more hysterical to watch others play it. Makes it even better when there are drinks involved...haha!!

This past weekend we have all been sick. Nothing major just stuffy noses. AJ has an ear infection and had to get a shot on Monday. He is not one to take medicine but neither am I, so I can't blame him. He gets it honest from mom! Well pawpaw and Ni were taking him to the lake last Friday and he started running a temp about 10pm. So it just got worse, so they came home. They got here about 3am and AJ's temp was 104. Well we couldn't get it down, we did everything for him to take Tylenol...let me just say we got very creative..haha. Cold showers with daddy, well it came down a little through out the rest of the weekend. No school Monday, it was off to the Doc. He got a shot cause he wont take is meds so now he cries when you even mention the Dr. But he is doing better now and today (Wednesday) he went back to school.

Today Annabel and I were doing laundry. That's an everyday thing around here. She was bored just crawling all over the house. That's all she likes to do these days since she has figured out she can crawl. She is a little cranky cause she has a stuffy nose also. But we got laundry done!

Today we went to the pumpkin patch to get AJ a pumpkin for school. He needs to have a pumpkin by Friday. Every year there is a church on Rayford that has a pumpkin patch. So we went after school. AJ had fun picking put his pumpkin. We brought them home and took some cute pictures in their playhouse.

Well where do I start? You are one of a kind! You are growing so fast, dad and I can't seem to keep up with you. You are very smart, you have something to say or sing everyday that you have learned or picked up from school. You can be a hand full at times and a little toot, but we love that in you. Cause no matter how mad we are at you you seem to make us laugh. We tend to catch our selves holding back a smile after yelling at you and you make a funny remark back at us. You are a great BIG brother to Annabel, you like to crawl around and let her chase you. You have taught her how to crawl and she is now learning to pull herself up all because of you!! You love to make her smile and laugh. At times you can be snippy with her but that is just the beginning of whats yet to come I'm sure =) You are loving your Montessori School and all of your new friend's. We couldn't have asked god for a better son, you are an amazing little guy and we love you so very much! You can only imagine how much you mean to mommy and daddy, you are our first born and you are very special!

Paw Paw & Noni

Well my dad, Janice, and Grandma Veit came to visit on Tuesday. They don't make it out this way very often. We are a little far from them. But when they come out we love having them here and so does AJ. Him and paw paw Veit played baseball, basketball, chased a lizard. He had a blast and was filthy by the time bath time rolled around. The water was a little cloudy! Grandma Veit put Annabel to sleep as usual. She seams to have the touch! All in all it was a nice visit and we look forward to many more.

Every Wednesday's Annabel and I go to my grandmother's house to visit after we drop AJ off at school. My aunt Terri, aunt April, and cousin Erica and her daughter Abigail also join us. That is our girl time with grandma every week. She loves the company. Well Abigail is going to be a year old on Thanksgiving and Annabel just turned 6 months. Annabel is a butter ball compared to little miss Abigail. But they have their play dates every Wednesday and Annabel is teaching Abigail how to crawl!! Well we are hoping Abigail is taking it all in =) But watching them grow together will be fun and as they get older these play dates will be a blast!

Well it's back to school for AJ tomorrow.
I guess you can say he had a nice vacation thanks to Hurricane IKE. Everything here is back to normal. Thank God...I dunno if I could have gone more then the 6 days we had with no electricity. I have asked AJ if he is ready to go back to school and of course like any kid he says, "NO!" Just as he was getting used to going with no more tears and loving his teacher and friend's IKE has to throw a curve ball in everyone's routine. Damn It!
So round two of having to deal with him in the mornings and not wanting to go to school and him crying. Don't you know it breaks my heart to leave my kids anywhere when they cry. Anyways....Here are some pictures of him just playing on his days off!

So I was going to post this before IKE hit but didn't get a chance to. So now is my chance....
Annabel is now almost 6 months, she is already crawling!! She is 2 months ahead of AJ when he started to get around. I guess when you have older siblings it seams to help with the process??!! I dunno, but then some say girls learn faster. She is getting over a cold she had during the storm. She had no clue what was going on at the time. She is getting so big so fast and I dunno if I can handle that, considering she is our last! They grow to darn fast! Here is a video of her crawling....

Well we are back online!!!!
Before IKE hit we had a few neighbor's over cause their AC went out. So we all hunkered down here. (I'm so tired of hearing hunker down!! So I thought I would use it) We sat outside to watch IKE make his way towards the Conroe area. Ricky and I and the kids slept in Annabel's room. Her room is the only one that doesn't have a target for trees to fall on!! The kids were down and I stayed up till about 2ish then I was out for the night. Ricky came to bed about 4ish and the power went out about 4:30am. We wake up to 60 mph plus winds still going on and rain. As the rain let up we walked the property and saw a lot of down trees and loads of limbs. IKE spared us greatly. For the grace of God we had nothing hit the house. Trees fell the opposite way of the house!! Lots of trees in neighbor's houses and big Oak trees pulled up by the roots. Amazing sight around here.
We moved all over, between our neighbor's house for a few days cause they had a generator. (Let me just say we WILL be getting a BIG generator in the up coming year!!) Then we went to Hector's house (Ricky's Brother) and stayed there till our power came back on. AJ had a blast over there, playing with his cousin's and meeting new friend's. We are so greatful for having great friend's and family!! Finally our power came on late Wednesday night!!! We are all so happy to be back in our home, I spent all Thursday cleaning!! For the most part things are back to normal around here. We restocked the fridge and freezer, AJ starts school Monday. All in all we made it through IKE alive and well. Let's just hope and pray we don't have another for a long while, I don't think I can take another one any time soon!!

Well it's about 9:30 on Wednesday. On Wednesdays I go and see my grandparent's. Well today was the first time I went to my "Grandparent's" house and my grandfather wasn't there. I was sad considering I can't believe he is gone and it has only been 9 days since we barried him. Two of my aunt's and I along with my cousin have said we would make it a habit to go on Wednesdays and just have a girl's day. It hurts cause the last time I was there with the kids (Aug. 13th 2008) grandpa went to the store and he came back with some band aids. Well his band aids are still sitting on the side table next to the lamp where he left them. So I am just sitting here thinking about my grandfather's and my great grandma who I have lost in my 27 yrs of being here. My great grandmother who I was close to passed when I was 16. My great grandfather passed when I was I think 7 yrs old or so. Mind you I have always been close to my grandparent's all my life, I'm so blessed my parent's gave me the chance to get so close to them while they were here. They were like my other parent's in a way. They gave me anything, they were there to talk, came to my sporting events, graduation, wedding, the birth of my children. Now all I have are my grandmother's. We barried my grandpa Veit Nov. 10th 2006. And now my grandpa Hobartsch just over a week ago. It hurts to look at AJ and know how much he loved to go see him, and how he asked about him. Yes he's 2 but just like my parent's I made sure he knew his great grandfather before his time was up. And still to this day he will ask for him if he sees pictures. He has no clue he will never see him again when he goes over there and that hurts me. But thats life I know. It's better to love and lost, then to not have loved at all! It's just so fresh on my mind and it brings back so many memories that I have with them all, and it makes me smile!!

Well things have calmed down around here. Before AJ started school it was a routine for him to play with Annabel a lot. Well he loved to get into her crib with her and just play, he is so funny!

Annabel is now 5 months and she is doing a lot. She is starting to crawl now. She hates to be on her back and she hates to sit still! She is a little firecracker!

Well AJ's first day of school was alright. I picked him up early. They called me and told me he was having a rough morning and if I could pick him up before nap time that would be great. They say it takes some a little more time to adjust then others. So I picked him up at noon on Monday. Well we talked to him all night and asked him if he wanted to go back and play with his friend's and he proceeded to say, "NO." Well this morning was his 2nd day of school. All the way there he would say, "No school mommy, I don't wanna see my friend's." So I was a little worried that today would be just like Monday. I dropped him off and he cried a little he didn't want me to go. As would any 2 yr old that is never away from home! So I dropped and went. Got home did a few things around the house. I was so worried that when the phone rang it would be his school telling me Anthony was having a rough morning. Well my morning went by so slow cause I was thinking about him and how he was doing. I didn't call to check on him today. 11 came around and no phone call this time, 11:30 came and went and still nothing. Nap time is at 12. 12 came and went and still nothing. So I was thinking well he must be doing well! 2 came around and I headed off to pick him up by 2:30. I got there and he was snoozing!! They said he did Wonderful today!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was so so happy that he is coming around and making new friend's and loving his teacher's. I hope this whole week gets better for him at drop off!

Well Anthony started "School" today! Yeah I know he's only 2, and some of you would say it's way early. But AJ is surpassing so many milestones every week it's amazing us! So we decided to check out Montessori. For those of you who don't know about or what Montessori even is here is a helpful hand...

~Montessori is a highly hands-on approach to learning. It encourages children to develop their observation skills by doing many types of activities. These activities include use of the five senses, kinetic movement, spatial refinement, small and large motor skill coordination, and concrete knowledge that leads to later abstraction.

~Montessori classrooms provide an atmosphere that is pleasant and attractive to allow children to learn at their own pace and interact with others in a natural and peaceful environment. In the ideal classroom, children would have unfettered access to the outdoors, but this is frequently not possible given modern day space considerations (and cost thereof).

~In response, Montessori teachers stock their classrooms with nature shelves, living plants and small pets, or perhaps a window sill garden, allowing children to experience as much of the natural world as possible given modern constraints.

In a nut shell that is the activities Anthony will be engaging in.
He did very well at drop off this morning, a little fussy but nothing bad. By the way I was actually ok!! We are doing a slow process this first week, so he can get used to being away from Ricky and I. So I picked him up at 12 as they were getting ready for nap time. They say first timers have a hard time with nap time at first. He ate his lunch with all of his friends, he painted, he played outside. All in all even though he did cry for a bit, it seamed like he had a good time, listening to him talk on the way home...he wouldn't hush!!! =) But we will keep you updated through out the year!

New York

Ricky and AJ just got back from New York last weekend. They went with Edward, Phillip, and Josh. It was a boy's trip to see Yankee Stadium in it's last year! They seamed to have a good time. They went to see Lady Liberty, Ground Zero, The Yankees game, Central Park. They did a lot in just a few days of being there. So needless to say they were all pooped! I wish I could have gone knowing how I love baseball as well but I am not a boy so mommies had to stay home!

Olympics

As you know the Olympics are now over. Our family loves to watch them when they come on every so many years! Well Ricky and I loved watching them with AJ this year. So with that said AJ now wants to play volleyball, soccer, and swim in the Olympics!!! Well Ricky and I wont stop him if that's what he wants...haha! He as well loved watching the games every night with us. He would jump up and down and cheer, "Go USA" we loved it!! We had or neighbors over one night with their daughter Jordan Marie and we watched the games. Jordan Marie and AJ are bestest of friends, they cheered and cheered for the USA. Tanya and I were rolling just watching them, plus we were trying to keep them awake....haha!

Well I can honestly say we have the most amazing kids in the world. But which parent doesn't think that of their own? AJ is surpassing by a milestone everyday. He knows his colors, he is learning his number, he has his manners down to a T, he is full of energy! My baby boy starts school Aug. 25th and I am so proud of him but yet at the same time I'm sad. He is growing to fast. But we think this will be a great experience for him to grow and learn. Meet new friends! We are working on the potty training thing, one day he is doing great and the next it's like he forgot what to do...haha! But I'm loving every min being home with him and being his mommy!!! Here he is at 2 yrs and 3 months old!!

About Annabel now....She has grown so much in her 4 months! She has been sleeping through the night since she was 7 weeks old. She is now smiling and laughing at everyone and everything she sees, she has found her voice so she now sings to everyone. She is rolling over, you put her on her back and turn around for a second and she is already on her tummy. She loves being on her tummy. She is playing more and more with her toys, she loves to watch her big brother run around like a mad man, she smiles when he talks and plays with her. She can fall asleep just about anywhere and nothing will wake her up. She is a drama queen at times and she gets her way!! She is our little piggy and we love having her here in our little family! Here she is at 4 months and 10 days old....

Annabel is now 4 months old and growing like a weed! She has found her voice and is sure to let everyone know. She is showing more and more of her personality and it is very cute. She just touch her and she laughs and smiles!

It's been a while since I have posted about AJ's swim lessons. He has actually gone to 9 lessons so far. He is doing wonderful! This last lesson they taught him to go underwater to get the rings on the bottom!! He did great he came up empty handed once. Granted the water is only 3 ft deep he did good. He can go around the pool holding the wall and he can get out alone on the side!! He loves to swim! So proud he is doing Great!!

The Wild

As most of you know we live on 2 acres of land in Conroe. Well we have the pleasure of having beautiful animals all around. One reason why we love it out here so much. Well last week I was on the computer and AJ was watching a movie getting ready for nap time. I got up and walked into the kitchen and walla there was a deer right out the kitchen window. It was our own weed whacker. She was eating the nice green weeds we have in our lovely back yard. She didn't seam scared of us at all. But she slowly moved away and went off into the trees.

She is now 4 months and one day old!! She has offically rolled over. Everytime I would get out the camera to catch her in the act she would stop. Why do babies and kids do this? Everytime I would wanna catch AJ in the act he would spot me and stop. Just not fair. But I snuck up on her while she was playing and got her!!!

So I thought of this idea to buy AJ some games. He's getting to the point where he can enjoy some of them now. So I headed to Toys-R-Us and I bought him a game. It's called EleFun and I thought hey that looks like some fun. So I bought it and brought it home. Well AJ loves it and wants to play all the time!! My mom bought him the fishing game. Everyone had that game growing up right? I did and I lived it. Well AJ loves it too. So now we have to go fishing and play with the elephant...haha!! Our baby is growing so fast.( don't pay any attention to me in the background..haha)

My Birthday

Well I had a wonderful Birthday Friday!! We started out at a Martini Bar in the Rice Village. It was called Mugsy's. It was nice, small, and cozy little place. Best known for their Red Apple Martini's, got Best Martini in 2007. Let me just say stay away from the Red Apple Martini!! I had 2 of them very very good!! After Mugsy's we went to another place, Called Pub Fiction. Danced a little bit. All in all I had 5 drinks and 2 shots. Not much I can usually handle that much and be ok. Well I guess after having a child 4 months ago I'm just not used to drinking anymore. Needless to say I don't remember leaving Pub Fiction, don't remember going to eat, well I never ate that night. Mistake on my part. Pretty hung over after waking up on my bedroom floor. Ricky couldn't get me in the house much less in the bed. But I did have a good night from what I can remember...haha!!
No more drinking for me for a long while!!

Weekday Outing

Today is my grandfather's Birthday! He passed away in Nov. 2005. Him and I would share our Birthday's together when I was growing up. So I miss having him around to help blow out the candles. I took the kids by to see their Angel Great Grandpa Veit.

After we stopped by to see grandpa we went to the Water Wall. AJ had never been before so I thought since we were out that way why not. At first he didn't like it. He said, " I don't like mama, I don't like it." So I started taking pictures and he opened up real quick. Get the camera out and he is all smiles! He had fun he didn't wanna leave. But it was HOT and mama was ready to go...haha!!

Well our baby girl is getting so big so fast. I want her to stay a baby as long as she can. I took a video of her playing and looking at her hands today. She will be 4 months on the 28th of July. I can't believe how time flies.
